Holdthefrontpage: This jobs sections is probably the best source for jobs in the local and regional press. The site also contains useful information on the industry.

Guardian: Of all the national newspapers, this has the best section for media jobs, if not many for journalists in the local and regional press.

Media News

Press Gazette:  Perhaps the best source of news about local journalism and it also has a jobs section.

Media Guardian: A good site about the British media that includes information about local and regional newspapers.

The Independent: The Independent’s media section has useful information, but generally is not as good as The Guardian's.

The Journalist: News from the National Union of Journalists.

Journalism.co.uk – This site has some useful information for journalists and also has a jobs section.

Newspaper Society: Represents and promotes the interests of Britain’s regional and local media.

Press Complaints Commission: Self-regulatory body that deals with complaints about the editorial content of newspapers and has a code of conduct that journalists and newspapers follow.

National Council for the Training of Journalists: The NCTJ delivers training for journalists in the UK.

National Union of Journalists: The NUJ is the trade union for journalists.

City University: For those starting out, this is probably the most prestigious journalism training course.

Roy Greenslade: The former Daily Mirror editor’s blog on journalism is excellent.

Jon Slattery: Jon is a former deputy editor of the Press Gazette who blogs about the media.

Joanna Geary: Joanna is web development editor for The Times and used to be a regional journalist. 

The Wire: The Press Gazette blog includes information on local journalism.

Jonathan Walker: Blog from the political editor of the Birmingham Post.

Headlines and Deadlines: Blog from Alison Gow, who is executive editor, digital, for the Liverpool Echo.
